Ed

An imperfect and sometimes sarcastic perspective on following Jesus by Ed Cyzewski.

I Wish I Had Written This

Scott over at theopraxis.net has some top notch thoughts on scripture (link). It may be one of the most important blog posts you read this year. I mean it.

It is especially important that we understand this: “One can only look for answers once we’ve defined the questions – and defining the questions is a matter of power and control.”

He goes on to comment, “If the Bible is an answer book, then it must, absolutely must, say the same thing all the time about a given subject – hence the focus on things like inerrancy and refuting contradictions and whatnot. But if scripture is a question book, then something changes.”

His closing remarks and the example that he presents make it well worth reading the entire post.
