Three and Half Years of Marriage

After three and half years of marriage it’s amazing to see how smoothly a Saturday can go. You learn a little about what the other person is thinking, you learn to recognize an exhausting week, and you both adapt. One gets irritated, the other can make a gentle joke about it, and things are fine. Amazing.

Not that I wanted to get into our marriage with all kinds of details, but I do find it wonderful to see how two people can learn to live with one another. We both find ourselves doing things out of the ordinary, what we would have never done on our own. Why? Because the other person draws it out of us. It’s a journey into selflessness that will always be uphill.
