Missional Church Shopping Spree

Tommorrow’s my birthday, but some of the checks have already arrived. So I decided to catch up on some of the organic/missional church books out there. If any of these flop, I’ll have a clearance sale at some point.

“Organic Church: Growing Faith Where Life Happens”
Neil Cole; Hardcover; $16.29

“Breaking the Missional Code: When Church Can Become Missionary in Your Community”
Ed Stetzer; Hardcover; $11.69

The Shaping of Things to Come: Innovation and Mission for the 21 Century Church”
Michael Frost; Paperback; $13.57

Breaking the missional code was completely impulse. It had a catchy cover, a nice title, some good reviews, and an interesting summary.

The Stetzer book was disappointing. I didn’t think there was anything new there (imho). My wife is reading Cole right now and is enjoying it.

But Frost & Hirsch? Required reading. It’s fantastic. Believe the hype.

Thanks for your thoughts. I am enjoying the Cole book. Maybe I’ll have to probe the Stetzer book a little and then resell it or something.

I’ve had my eyes on Frost and Hirsch for a while. I’m looking forward to it.

Thanks for being my emerging/missional book expert Scott. You always have your paws on some great reads.
