When I’m not listening to Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell in my car, I have been reading through Neil Cole’s book Organic Church. So far, so good.
It’s a very readable book about planting church where people are. Instead of a “come to us” approach, he advocates a “go to them” approach.
The best part about it so far is that he’s telling stories and sharing observations, while always pointing to God and the work of the Holy Spirit. He is also grounded in scripture and does some nice work interpreting and applying it.
More thoughts to come on this book. So far it feels like something I need: an encouragement to boldly carry the Gospel into the world. I’m working on it, but always need to be encouraged to press further in.
