What is Cyber security? And its importance and protection?

In simple words, Cyber security is the protection of computer hardware, servers, networks, mobile devices, and important data from digital attacks. It may be referred to as information technology security.

Basically, cyberattacks are targeted at accessing, destroying, or changing sensitive information or interrupting normal processes. Nowadays, Cyber security is becoming more and more important as the number of devices is increasing, and cyber attackers are becoming more innovative.

The purpose of Cybersecurity is to decrease the chance and defend IT assets from people with malicious intent. The standard type of cyber threats includes data breaches, identity theft, malware, phishing attacks, and social engineering.

It’s the most well-known kind of digital attacks. Phishing is the act of sending false messages that resemble messages from reputable sources. The purpose is to take delicate information like credit card numbers and login information.


Ransomware is a sort of malicious program. It is intended to blackmail cash by blocking access to data or the computer system until a certain amount is paid. Paying the payment doesn’t ensure that the data will be restored.

  1. Use anti-virus software such as Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, McAfee Internet Security, and Kaspersky Total Security. This software will remove threats from your system. 
  2. Always update your operating system and software.
  3. Do not click on links in email and do not open email attachments from unknown senders, these could contain malware. 
  4. Do not use a common password. Use a strong password. 
  5. Do not connect with unsecured WiFi networks. It could leave you vulnerable.
